We each have a varied background of experience enabling us to meet your children’s needs wherever possible and we assure you the contentment, happiness and welfare of your children is our main priority.

  • Fontmell Magna Under Fives Pre-School has been established in the village for over 30 years.
    We offer bright and spacious surroundings indoor and out.
    We have gained an excellent reputation locally for providing a happy and stimulating environment for your child to play and learn.

    Fontmell Magna Under Fives main aim is to learn through play, with learning opportunities endlessly available.

    We care for children aged 2-5 years. We are a Dorset County Council (DCC) funded nursery who receive education grants for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year old’s.

We can claim an additional £300 per child per year to spend on enriching your 3 or 4 year old child’s education either by extra resources and equipment, new play, or learning and activity experiences. If you would like to check your eligibility, please feel free to do so using This Link

    We have a dedicated committee who organise fundraising throughout the year. We welcome anyone who wishes to join the committee.

    We are a charity who are registered and inspected by OFSTED, and we are a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

  • For insurance reasons parents are requested not to leave their children at the Pre-School earlier, or later than 5 min before, or after the beginning of each session. All of our sessions are provided on an hourly basis.

    Our sessions and prices:

    Breakfast club 07.45-08.45 £4 for the session
    Morning 08.45-11.45 Under 3’s £5.50ph Over 3’s £5.25ph
    Afternoon 11.45-14.45 Under 3’s £5.50ph Over 3’s £5.25ph
    Afterschool club 14.45-15.45 £4 for the session

    Children are funded for the term immediately after they are 3 years old. Funded children can spend up to 15 hours per week free of charge with us. If you require a funding form, please ask a member of staff as they are available from our Preschool. If your child has a golden ticket they are eligible for up 15 hours of funded child care the term after their 2nd birthday.

    A mid-morning drink and snack is provided during the Morning Session. We do however, ask for a donation of 50p.

    Any child attending the afternoon session is required to bring their own lunch. Currently, we are asking that all lunch is brought in disposable packaging, all children have a water bottle that stays at Preschool which is always accessible. Please no nuts or strawberries and avoid sweets.

We are a charity run Pre-School with a committee made up of our lovely parents and staff. We try to keep the site updated with recent information, photos and news updates.
